When pitching the treatment to the class with my group, we received a ton of feedback. The class stated various things about the case studies we used such as what inspiration did we get from the music video. As a group we said that Tory Lanez LUV video made us influenced for our song to be based on love also we stated that we will be using the time-lapse part of the video as it conveys the motif love. In addition, we said that PartyNextDoor come and see me video inspired us as we wanted to create a narrative side to our video as well as being performance based. The class gave us some advice on types of editing techniques to include for instance split screens to implicate Drake and Rihanna talking on the phone so its showing the back and fourth conversation. This helped us as we will be using the class advise and now our narrative side to the video will be based on Rihanna and Drake talking on the phone and then meeting up and having arguments.
As a group we worked rather well as we contributed equally towards the pitch as you can see in the video. Although, some of our case studies are different to each others we know what genre will be fully focusing on which is Hip-Hop. As I was inspired by the case studies of Tory Lanez, Kevin Gates and PartyNextDoor I also found another music video with many editing techniques which is called Zion & Lennox Ft. J Balvin - Otra Vez.
This is the Spanish music video with various amount splits screen and good editing techniques used. This inspired me to include something like this, in order to do this i will need to go get some advice from Tom the editing technician which will hopefully show me how to do this when editing. Also as a group we will be attending extra editing classes during lunchtimes so when we edit we will be good at it and this allows us to edit out of college hours.
